Warren Buffett autographs the dashboard of his 2006 Cadillac DTS thats being auctioned to benefit Girls Inc. He is offering to personally hand over the keys to the new owner.

OMAHA (AP) The bids on Warren Buffett's 2006 Cadillac reached $70,000 on the first day of a charity auction that will run into next Thursday.
The online auction of Buffett's old DTS sedan started Wednesday at www.proxibid.com/girlsinc.
The 2006 Cadillac has 20,310 miles on it, so Kelley Blue Book estimates that it's worth roughly $11,600. But Buffett's ownership and the fact that he signed the dashboard makes it worth more.

This is a nine year old car. Sharpie on the dashboard doesn't change that. I can't believe people are so starved for conversation starters that they consider Buffett enough of a celebrity to overpay $60,000 for a used car.
Good scam, though.

If one was motivated to donate money to Girls Inc. this is something that might compel a person to donate a little more.

The person buying it will certainly know the score, tax-wise, and investment wise.
And if some clueless moron with too much money buys the car just to sniff the seats, so what? Girls Inc. still gets the money.
