WASHINGTON — Rep. Brad Ashford, D-Neb., can expect to be in the GOP cross hairs come 2016.
Just in case anyone doubted that, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Thursday placed Ashford on its list of vulnerable incumbents.
Putting Ashford in its “Frontline” program is the committee’s way of signaling that Democrats are making it a priority to hold onto the hard-won seat and are likely to help him raise money for his re-election bid.
Ashford narrowly defeated longtime GOP incumbent Rep. Lee Terry last year in Nebraska’s 2nd District, which is considered a swing district.
