Oklahoma Police Officer pleads guilty to raping 15 year old girl.

While on duty, in the police car. Seriously.

http://kfor.com/2015/02/09/former-oklahoma-officer-pleads-guilty-to-raping-15-year-old-while-on-duty/

So here's the gist of the story. The girl was a part of the Police Explorers program. This for those of you who don't know, is a program similar to JROTC in which cop fanatic children learn about how to be a cop, and then theoretically they become cops later. So in other words, you have impressionable youths, who are meeting and interacting with their version of rock stars, with predictable results.

So what punishment comes from a cop who sexually abuses a Teenaged girl while on duty in his patrol car? Well, he gets five years in prison, ten years of probation, and has to register as a sex offender. Five years for such an egregious abuse of power and official position.

Read the first story about the events here. http://kfor.com/2014/09/29/former-oklahoma-police-officer-accused-of-sexually-assaulting-15-year-old/

Perhaps i'm looking at this the wrong way. Perhaps the cop was showing the girl just how individually beautiful and desirable he thought she was to boost her self esteem. Nah, he was a pervert praying on a little girl.

Too many cops are getting away with murder, literally.

I'm glad to find out that he was charged at all. I don't know what happened to cause this to become a case, since it was 3 years ago, but very glad it did. You have to feel for this bastards wife too. He gave this girl his wedding band? What the ever loving fuck kind of sick crap is that? Well, considering what he did to this child, I shouldn't be surprised at that.

Thanks for the update.

those five years (well, the time he ends up serving) in prison won't be too hard, because I know everyone there will be respectful and kind to a cop.

First-degree rape for a person over age 18 to have sexual intercourse with a person under age 14 - Five years in prison to death

In all other cases rape is second-degree rape - One to 15 years in prison

It wasn't the minimum nor the maximum sentence. He'll never work in law enforcement ever again, and probably never have a position of responsibility once he leaves prison.

sentence given how ex-cops are viewed by the other inmates. I imagine he won't be placed in general population and will probably do his time in protective custody or in a special needs section where his privileges are much more restricted than if he were in general population.

So should we take that into consideration when sentencing Pedophiles for their crimes? I mean, they're not going to be viewed in a positive light by the other prisoners right? Not like Bank Robbers, Murderers, and other regular criminals.

pointing out that, for an ex-cop time served will undoubtedly be harder than for 99.9% of the inmates. It's not a trivial sentence.

I think I'd take the view that his incarceration should be away from other inmates so that they don't up fucking with him and thus potentially making things worse for themselves.

children (usually under12 yrs). Sadly, many in our our society (and gen pop) is pretty conflicted about an adult raping a 15 year old, and prefers to call non-violent assaults sex instead. And above the age of 12, often the girl herself is blamed. But this was rape.
That doesn't happen with pedophiles. Not the same thing. He is still horrible, but call him what he is- a rapist.

She would've had to testify and worse been cross examined by a ruthless defense attorney.
