Muslim family attacked while shopping at Dearborn Kroger

A Muslim man and his family were attacked inside of the Dearborn Kroger located 15255 Michigan Avenue, at the corner of Greenfield Rd., while they were grocery shopping on Thursday, February 12.

The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when the Arab man and his children were inside of the store purchasing ice cream. Two Caucasian men passed by the family and began making derogatory remarks about ISIS, according to eye witnesses.

The Caucasian men began to physically assault the Arab man, making comments that included "go back to your country" and "you terrorists." One of the Caucasian men told the Arab man's young daughter to "take the rag off your head."

Kathy Mcmillan Bazzi, who was shopping at the grocery store during the incident, said she was shaken by what she witnessed.

"All hell broke loose. There was blood and threats," said Bazzi.

10. That's worth mentioning because both are very common, yet DU yawns at them.

Statistics show that the group that is most often victims of bias crimes are African Americans, there are more racially motivated bias crimes than any other sort and more than 60% of those are against African Americans. The next largest sort of bias crimes are those motivated by bias toward the victim's sexuality and yet again there is a disproportionate number of attacks on LGBT people of color.
Six weeks into 2015 there have already been 5 trans women of color murdered in the US. Last year there were multiple murders, execution style, of gay men, people of color among the victims as well as a guy I assume to be Muslim due to his name. DU shrugs all of them off. Part of the reason might be that the criminals are straight people or because the criminals so often cite their own religion's anti gay dogmas as reason for their crimes.
