Yahoo News:Comcasts bad customer service is almost legendary at this point. New stories pop up nearly every day that involve people being horribly mistreated by Comcasts customer care team, and each one is more cringeworthy than the last. Examples from the past few weeks alone involve Comcast calling a subscriber an a**hole on her bill, Comcast calling a 63-year-old woman super b*tch on her bill, and one particularly ridiculous story of a couple who couldnt get help with their Comcast service until someone complained to Comcast CEO Brian Robertss mother on their behalf.
...snip...
According to Craig Moffett, a high-profile media industry analyst and cofounder of MoffettNathanson, Comcasts customer care will indeed come into play as the proposed deal between Comcast and TWC is evaluated by regulators in the United States.
The customer service nightmares of the past 12 months certainly arent going to help, Moffett said to The Chicago Tribune. Its unclear how much politics matter in these things, but they have to matter at least a little bit.
Beyond jeopardizing the TWC deal, Moffett believes that Comcasts numerous customer service incidents may have even played a direct role in Federal Communications Commission head Tom Wheelers recent decision to put forth a stricter net neutrality proposal that would see broadband internet service reclassified as a utility.

Even if Comcast had the best customer service in the world, that shouldn't affect one's position on net neutrality!

(12,157 posts)2. As bad as most customer service is today
Comcast has to be the worst and I have no experience with Comcast personally.

(45,447 posts)3. Comcast clearly does not have enough competition in most markets
they have monopoly power in too many areas so they don't care.
I don't know why Verizon and others are taking so long to get wired into some markets. I hope the FCC does something to encourage competition among service providers instead of reducing it.
I've also read that Comcast and TWC are the most hated companies in America.
