Department of the Interior will delay new gas, oil and coal valuation rules.

The Hill

—The Department of the Interior will delay new gas, oil and coal valuation rules.

The Interior Department’s Office of Natural Resources Revenue last month proposed updating the agency’s valuation regulations for oil, gas, and coal, but will extend the comment period to give the public more time to discuss.

The oil valuation regulations were last updated in 2000, while the gas and coal valuation regulations haven’t been updated since the late 1980s.

The public has until May 8 to comment. http://bit.ly/1AggGZ1
