Warren Throckmorton notes, just today announced that on April 14 it will host a celebration of the anniversary of the “execution of the tyrant Abraham Lincoln.”

League of the South President Michael Hill writes in a blog post titled “Honoring John Wilkes Booth” that the organization “thanks Mr. Booth for his service to the South and to humanity”:

7. Lincoln's Murder Hurt the South

Lincoln was much more conciliatory towards the South than most Northern politicians, and would have implemented policies designed to repair rather than punish. The assassination only served to remove a president who would have helped them, and to incite a desire for vengeance.

Southerners who celebrate John Wilkes Booth are ignorant and stupid.
