Maybe we're not so crazy in Alabama

Except for Mobile, all of the other urban areas of AL have complied from the outset, including Montgomery (where the AL Supreme Court sits) and Gadsden, where Roy Moore is from. The federal judge who made the the initial ruling presides in the Southern district, which includes Mobile. I'm beginning to wonder if Mobile County's probate judge held out on purpose (to force the issue) knowing there would be problems between our crockpot chief judge and probate judges who would be confused. To be a probate judge in AL, one does not have to possess a law degree. I have practiced law in AL for a number of years, and would not be surprised if there was a "wink, wink" agreement to hold out and force the issue.

he's going to say or do something so idiotic that the state lege will have no other option than to impeach his sorry ass.

I know people there aren't that crazy, they just don't like having anybody tell them what to do, something pervasive in the south. They know Moore is wrongheaded and they know that all the states that have marriage equality have seen no problems stemming from it that weren't already there with hetero marriages.

When push comes to shove, Moore will be out on his bum. He'll have to run for legitimate office and quite possibly start his own party to do so.

Alabamians, particularly in the large urban areas aren't crazy. We're just trying to get by.

Monday, February 9th, regardless of some counties, Alabama became the 37th state to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples!

There are at least 13 states that suck more than us! Well...you know what I mean.

At least, thank God for Mississippi, right?

I was actually born in Rolla, Missouri, "The Show Me State."

Now I live in Alabama, "The Make Me State."

Alabamians will get it right eventually - but not easily.

Sometimes one just can't go along, especially when there's a good reason.

Speaking of good: How is Gov. Don Siegelman? Any coverage of his case and Legal Schnauzer's case?
