Like many others here, I felt heartbroken at the tragedy and the senseless loss of three such talented and caring young people. I wanted to find some way to honor their memory and after reading about some of their volunteer charity activities in this article http://www.northraleighnews.com/2015/02/12/4550456/slain-students-remembered-fondly.html I made a donation to the United Muslim Relief organization. (I am not a Muslim, in fact I was raised as a Southern Baptist and now attend a United Methodist church). If any DUers want to do the same, they could do so at this website:

They also volunteered providing free dental services to the local homeless community through North Carolina Missions of Mercy, which accepts donations on this website: http://ncmom.info/
(Both of these organizations are 501(c) (3) charities and donations are tax deductible.)
