Keep government out of our bathrooms. Our editorial.

Especially if you're a woman, you know the scenario. You're at a gas station, restaurant or stadium and have to use the bathroom, badly. But when you reach the restroom, there's a line. A really long line.

You look at the men's room and see no line. Are you willing to risk it? If on your way out, you find a man waiting, you might get a dirty look.

And if a Florida lawmaker gets his way, you would get arrested and spend up to a year in jail.

A bill filed last week by state Rep. Frank Artiles, R-Miami, isn't meant to target folks who make hasty use of the wrong bathroom or mistakenly push the wrong door, which is easy to do these days with all the artsy bathroom signs used to denote men and women.

Rather, his "Single-Sex Public Facilities" bill is part of a national trend to criminalize transgender people who, as they transition into the sex they were meant to be, use the restroom that matches how they're dressed.......

just good for obstruction. Though that's on the resume.

What I am seeing is a long list of diversionary tactics.

People who gravitate towards that kind of thinking applaud them and vote for them while swirling in a confusing spiral of cognitive dissonance. On the other side, there are reactions of those who consider the proposals and bills preposterous and forms of regression, suppression and control.

Let's not miss the point that subjects like poor people, SNAP, wombs, penises, vaginas, gender, GLBT and bathrooms are not just about people who are so good at repressing their thoughts and impulses so well that they become impulsive projectors puking out an endless stream of their own Fascist movies on everyone and every issue. The wedge issues seem to also be instigated and disseminated as a means to detract us from what's over there, behind the curtain.

Meanwhile, the real and pressing problems and issues are occluded by the surreal mind movies of denial and distraction. That's shit has got to stop, as they say.
