1. Tangentially, the term "evolutionist" is problematic

In practice, it is used to imply a belief in evolution, which in turn puts evolution on level footing with any non-verifiable belief system. In fact, that's exactly the strategy that creationists employ in their efforts to force public schools to teach creationism and other Christian beliefs.

Not surprising that no one in the GOP would admit the reality of science, given their pig-headed denial of climate change.
