He might be content to semi-retire and take an occasional gig here and there. It is a bit surprising given he's only 52. Geez David Letterman is 67 (will be 68 when he retires). Carson was much older than that.

He will get into political journalism in some manner. I've known ever since he took that bowtie idiot to the woodshed that he genuinely cared, the way people here care, about politics. They thought they were getting a fluff comedian and they got brutal honesty. He's sworn all these years that he has just been a comedian and I stopped believing him after I saw the above. He's grown beyond The Daily Show.

He, along with this place and a number of others, saved my sanity during the awful shrub years. As hard as it is to let him go, he has spawned a whole new generation of similar shows and I was wondering just the other day if Comedy Central wasn't sinking a little too much into this genre.

That said, I hope, hope, hope they pull Larry from the nightly show. He's gotten good fast but his program isn't getting the numbers. Pop him into the juggernaut and I think he will hit it out of the park.

I started watching the show tonight until I saw S.E. Cupp. If she is going to be a regular guest on that show, I will not watch at all. I'm not crazy about the panel format.

At first I did not like the panel format because they talked over each other, but it looks like that has been addressed.
I like the show.
I did not like Colbert at first, either.
