Second push poll from Warren supporters.

MoveOn.org wants Elizabeth Warren to run for president -- so much so that it has commissioned a poll with the very clear purpose of making Warren's potential candidacy look as good as possible.

Mission accomplished. The just-released poll from YouGov shows Warren ahead of Clinton 31 percent to 24 percent in Iowa and 30-27 in New Hampshire.

How do you get results so far afield of any polling we've seen to date? You say a bunch of positive/liberal-friendly things about Warren before you ask the head-to-head question.

In fairness to MoveOn, the group discloses up-front that this is what's known as an "informed ballot" -- i.e. information is shared about candidates before the head-to-head question is asked. MoveOn emphasizes that no negative information is shared about the other candidates (including Clinton), which is a trick often used in such polling.

What MoveOn doesn't emphasize is that the only candidate for whom positive information is shared is Warren. And there is a lot of positive information -- 10 statements, in fact.

The takeaway here: If Warren runs for president and is somehow able to run a campaign in which she is the only candidate allowed to share positive information about herself, then she might -- emphasis on might -- have a chance of beating Clinton.

If anything, this poll should discourage Warren from changing her mind and running.

She'll beat Hillary like a drum if she runs - unless she does zero advertising.

Hillary, OTOH... whenever she comes out of hiding, her numbers drop.

I'm getting tired of the Ready for Warren group. They need to realize she isn't running. Bernie is out there begging for help. If this group wants a progressive challenger to Hillary they need to get on the Bernie Bandwagon.

Do you know how ignorant that statement is don't you. I realize your ilk keep pushing that meme and you may think it make's you someone special because of what get's posted on DU. Here's a clue for you, DU doesn't even represent "1%" of our population. So keep on living inside the bubble. Myself will stick to the real world.

P.S. and you won't see me beating a dead horse hoping to revive it. She is not running.

Looks to me like either you think she supports the 99%, which I would love to see some proof of, or you acknowledge she represents the 1%, but you are ok with that.

None of HRC's supporters have offered any evidence to support the contention that she supports anyone other than Goldman-Sachs and the 1%.

The more the merrier; I don't think that the way to give voters a choice in selecting the next Democratic nominee is to say that a plausible candidate outright shouldn't run. (And Iowa and New Hampshire have some symbolic importance, but Super Tuesday matters much, much more.)

The difference in our debates and the Republicans is a wonderful thing and only good for our party. It is the difference between adults talking and children playing in the mud. I would love a debate between Hillary, Warren, and a handful of others. Not to ferret out a winner but to get our message out.

A potential candidate who is unknown (sorry, Warren supporters, she's an unknown on a national level) would definitely ahve a shot if they break 50% in a poll like this.

Warren is a politician as is Hillary. Many of her "fans" don't get that or are not politically savvy. Her fans are her most ardent supporters and are trying to create change. They are the most loyal people a politician has. Hillary has them as does Obama. No matter what a politician does these people will support it. Every politician needs them. They are useful tools in the advance of personal power for politicians. They all produce push polls and information that is truly not relevant yet sounds good. They also hate all those in their way. Once again, Warren, Hillary, and Obama have them.
