Isn't California a Democratic Party run state?

California is supposed to be run by the Democratic Party, so then why am I reading this?

High Levels of benzene found in fracking waste water

The testing results from hundreds of wells showed, on average, benzene levels 700 times higher than federal standards allow, according to a Times analysis of the state data.

The presence of benzene in fracking waste water is raising alarm over potential public health dangers amid admissions by state oil and gas regulators that California for years inadvertently allowed companies to inject fracking flowback water into protected aquifers containing drinking water.

The federal Environmental Protection Agency called the state's errors "shocking." The agency's regional director said that California's oil field waste water injection program has been mismanaged and does not comply with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

So California, a Democratic Party run state, allowed fracking waste water to enter drinking water aquifers?

This is something that I'd expect from a Red state but not a Blue state.

And act like nobody knew this. And then find a scapegoat that has been fired for years. Problem solved.

2) This is also the land of Darrel Issa and the Governator. There is a LOT of red in California!

You're asking if it's a blue state in the present tense.

If you'd read the article, you'd have read the part that this has been going on for decades and it has not been a blue state for all that time, not by far.

Also, apparently, all the different water districts use outmoded and badly organized computer systems which allowed the bookkeeping to be very sloppy.

The whole situation is completely inexcusable.
