Stellar cop of the day story. (Can I put a Sarcasm tag in the title?)

When a cops is caught doing something wrong, it is normally covered up. If there is a punishment, it is usually minor. So what would the punishment be for false arrest, false imprisonment, and obstruction of justice? How about one day in prison, six months house arrest? Well that is all that is fair for such a "Stellar" Police Officer.

FORMER Philadelphia Police officer Kevin Corcoran walked into court yesterday facing up two years in prison for a conviction stemming from his undocumented arrest of an Iraqi War veteran in March 2013.

But hours later, he walked out - practically a free man - after a judge sentenced him to one day in prison for obstruction of justice.

Before sentencing, Common Pleas Judge Robert P. Coleman cited Corcoran's "stellar" career prior to his arrest in the case, saying that given the charges, the recommended sentence of two to 23 months in prison was unfair.

Stellar career. Yes, I'm sure this was the first time that Kevin Corcoran did anything remotely wrong. First offense and all of that.

One day in prison. One lousy day. So with time served, you know the booking process, and being checked into prison, and then processed out, he'll probably spend about eight hours in a cell. Then he'll be cut loose and sent home with a wagged finger telling him to be good from now on.

So what do Corrupt cops have to fear? Worst case scenario, they have to spend a day in prison.

Yes Judge, this guy is stellar. Simply awesome with the exception of one little thing right?
