2. Something to ponder: Light.

Earth has been taking in light from our solar system's star for something like 4+ billion years. Most of the life on this planet that has since died off and become fossil fuel over the eons, converted light into their form, thus changing light to matter and sequestering it when those organisms died, as an oversimplification of the process.

When we (humans) burn fossil fuels driving gas powered vehicles around, warming or cooling our homes, lighting our houses and cities, we're converting and releasing the matter that was once light, that is now fossil fuel, into the atmosphere. In a way, we've taking the light that took millions or hundreds of millions of years to shower our planet and releasing its energy into our atmosphere within a very short time period. We call this our industrial revolution and we are the only species that is driving this process.

Something to ponder when viewing, for instance, a HD or UHD television demo. While the video is designed to impress your senses with the colors and clarity, if you step back and think about the light energy being dumped back into the atmosphere, it's not hard to fathom something going on that is less than cheery.
