I may not have a lot of hearts but this year I have my very first one. Surprisingly I really did feel like I sorta arrived and felt sorta loved by at least one person here. It's like a first anonymous love. A warm fuzzy on a cold day. Thank you! Now to pay it forward for more warm fuzzies.

(23,763 posts)now you can feel doubly loved. Where in Germany are you from? I was born and lived in Frankfurt and also lived in Bad Homburg

(2,638 posts)but with the bombings my Mom, her sister and the kids didn't stay and moved to the Gifhorn/Anheim region to a little village called Wesendorf. My Mom was born in Leipsig and my father in Berlin. We immigrated with my step-father when I was in the second grade.
Thank you so much for the love! You made my day

(23,763 posts)the neighborhood I was in was bombed out and even in 1972 you could still see effects of the bombing. I was in the square the morning JFK was there. I was 5 years old. I will be back there this summer in Frankfurt am Main, Heidelberg, Trier, Koln and Rothenburg

(18,186 posts)and it feels better than getting hearts!
I was giggling, giving some love to some wonderful DUers.
I get sad when I see anyone without a heart, and hope next year to have enough to give hearts to everyone.
Sweet post, sunnystar!
