Ted Cruz and Jeb W. Bush on their economic high horses last week.

Yesterday Ted Cruz was on ABC while Jeb W. Bush made a speech touting the benefits of a free market. Hearing them repeating the old bromides of capitalism makes me sick. Today's "free market" reminds me of the old Holocaust phrase: Arbeit macht frei which according to Wikipedia means Work makes (you) free.

Yes, we need to work hard so the elites like Jeb W. and Ted can live free of work. Or they might pull a John McCain and call the citizens of the United States "low life scum."

Don't they realize that since Reagan our economic system has favored the rich at the expense of working people?

Their deepest held ideological belief holds that money is the root of all freedom.

Their belief system leaves them blind any other possibility.

So, no, they don't realize there is any harm in the economic system favoring the rich.

For that reason, I think Conservatism should be declared a religion, and Republican is just one denomination of that religion.
