Brian Williams' cameo in the Yale recruitment video

As his daughter Allison (then a Yale senior) sings in this rather nice little musical parody. She warbles about how you can meet "all your favorite celebrities" at Masters Teas at your residential college at Yale. The Precious One appears around 6:34.

I remember some of the students being ticked off that Allison got a special role because of her Dad. Especially since this video was completely done by Yale students.

I'm not meaning it to be cruel. But some Yale students really felt she was given CTyankee Feb 2015 #2

I must say I did find her voice rather thin. The other performers are better, IMO. CTyankee Feb 2015 #4

Oh, I can see why you are a bit upset. Yes, I was referring to him not to her. CTyankee Feb 2015 #6

special treatment. There were some bad feelings. I never heard that about Jodie Foster and some of the other Yalies who were well connected to famous families.

...isn't exactly kind. And, Jodi Foster is famous for her own celebrity and not that of her parents.

I just hate to see Brian Williams' daughter get caught in the pile-on that's surrounding her father.

Sorry my sentence about Foster got jumbled by me. I could have been clearer by what I meant. Foster was already famous and didn't have famous relatives. But other Yalies did have famous families. Yale is one of the most competitive colleges to get into.

...the timbre of Allison Williams' singing voice if it weren't for her father's current situation. (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that "The Precious One" is referring to Brian Williams and not his daughter.)

Your contempt for Brian Williams is palpable. I just hate to see his daughter targeted by proxy.

I just remembered his cameo in the Yale video when this latest story on him came out. Puts his appearance in the video in perspective.

Allison is probably suffering a lot right now. I feel sorry for her. And you are right, she shouldn't be a target. She probably believed him and his stories. It's rough when you bring down so much misery on your family. He ought to be ashamed of himself...
