LINCOLN — Unrelenting pain pushed Ashley Taillard to try pot for the first time at the age of 29.

The self-described military brat and Air Force veteran grew up thinking illegal drugs weren’t just unsafe, they were wrong. But when a VA doctor suggested she look into marijuana for her debilitating back injury — making it clear he wasn’t recommending she take the drug — she reconsidered long-held beliefs.

Prescription bottles are a familiar sight in Ashley and Michael Taillard’s Omaha home. Ashley can’t tolerate opiate-derived painkillers for her nerve damage, so she takes maximum doses of Tylenol and Motrin, and applies numbing patches. She says they don’t stop the pain like pot she tried once did.

Last summer her husband drove her to Denver, and they legally purchased a small amount of pot.

Moments after she inhaled, the pain began to dissipate. Later, tears flowed.

FULL story at link.

For those that don't know, I am terminally ill. I would welcome this to Nebraska for those that suffer needlessly.
