Joe Biden is the gutsiest dude in D.C. at this moment.
If he does run for president, AIPAC will be smearing him up and down the board.
When someone takes a tough stand, even if you've disagreed with that person in the past, you have to stand with him.
C'mon Dems...Be Like Joe!
(I'd appreciate it if somebody could do a photoshop of Biden in the "Che silkscreen" pose).

(54,403 posts)Not Bonehead, not the Republicans in Congress.
The head of a foreign power wants to manipulate the US Congress for what he perceives to be his own political advantage, OK, I get that. I don't even blame him for trying, although being a foreign power that very much depends on our friendship as a lifeline to survival, I do question his wisdom and his willingness to risk our current administration's wrath at being so blatant about it.
But to show up at an event clearly meant to embarrass the president and bypass the long-standing channels of diplomacy, protocol and courtesy is a mistake. I am proud of our Vice-President for having the courage to say he wants no part of this event. I have nothing against Israel, but I hope this brings down the Netanyahu regime like a house of cards. He's not doing his country any good with this move, and he's only feeding Bonehead's ego and thirst to embarrass Obama by doing it. If I were the head of Hamas, trying to think up a way to drive a deep wedge between Israel and the USA, I couldn't have tried to get Netanyahu to go about this any differently.

(32,139 posts)I recced this because of his stand against Netanyahu's murderous policies, but the LAST thing the Democratic Party needs is another candidate as corrupted by and deep in the pockets of the big banks as Biden is. Google "Joe Biden MBNA" and review his revolting behavior during the banking crisis.
Not to mention his cowardly complicity in the surveillance/police state and the persecution of Edward Snowden under the Obama administration, after criticizing NSA abuses in 2006. And his defense of the drug wars.
Joes Biden is deep in complicity with the current corrupt corporate establishment politicians who are dismantling our Constitution and ushering in authoritarian corporate rule.
We MUST do better in 2016, because this nation, and Americans, can't endure four more years of this corporate agenda.

...and I think Jonathan Pollard should be brought in to the gallery in an orange jumpsuit, in leg irons and cuffs, surrounded by armed federal marshals. When Bibi comments about that, Biden can let him know that if he wants to discuss it, he can come down to the White House and talk to the boss.
