This hasn't been a very good week for a very bad man!
168. As Roctivity has pointed out-it all comes full circle-Crime Digest Item #1 hits the news again-this time with a bit more splash: Feds talk to ex-N.J. prosecutor who claims Christie had allies' charges dropped: http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/02/feds_interview_ex-nj_prosecutor_who_claims_christi.html#incart_river Hopefully some vindication is headed Ben Barlyn's way. A very brave man who stood up for what is right.
* And just to note-its cost the taxpayers of NJ over 1/2 Million dollars to defend Christie against Mr. Barlyn's lawsuit-more money for his crony law firms (this time Bill Pallatuci's firm-he's the guy who created this monster in the first place) NJ Paid Law Firm Of Chris Christie's Top Adviser To Defend Christie In Whistleblower Suit : http://www.ibtimes.com/nj-paid-law-firm-chris-christies-top-adviser-defend-christie-whistleblower-suit-1807346 Take him down Ben Barlyn!
** A little trip down memory lane to the day when then U.S. Attorney Christie stepped in on behalf of his good buddy George Norcross- Ex-Prosecutors in Trenton Respond to U.S. Scolding http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9A0DEFDE113FF934A15752C0A9609C8B63

169. Maybe United can institute direct flights to wherever you might want to fly: United confirms 'chairman's flight' subpoena in probe of former Port Authority exec: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2015/02/united_confirms_chairmans_flight_subpoena_in_probe_of_former_port_authority_exec.html#incart_story_package The "Chairman's Flight"! Just when I thought things were going nowhere it starts to get interesting.
170. Apparently his loudmouth boor act didn't play well in England-who could have guessed? Christie's U.K. trip a 'failure,' presidential scholars say: http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/02/chris_christies_uk_trip_a_failure_experts_say.html#incart_m-rpt-1 I say old boy, why don't you sit down and shut up. Pass the crumpets please.
171. So much for the promise of transparency. Chris Christie Is Now Waging 23 Court Battles to Keep State Documents Secret:http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2015/02/chris-christie-transparency-records-requests What do you suppose they're trying to hide?

(86,636 posts)Thanks for keeping track. This trainwreck is almost as juicy as the Argentinian debacle... almost since we know who the perp is here, and I am sure he has friends who would really shake things up if everything were revealed.

(2,419 posts)I'm starting to feel like something is going to come of this investigation. You can deny 1 or 2 of these things as partisan or political but all of them? It's such a pervasive pattern of perfidy (I couldn't resist the alliteration) it's almost hard to believe the scope of his misdeeds. And the arrogance of thinking that he is above accountability. This guy has done some serious damage from a policy standpoint as well as on a personal level to anyone who has gotten in his way. His day of reckoning hasn't arrived yet but I sure hope it's coming soon.
He's pretty close to Cuomo too and look who's been doing the per-walk lately. I think Crispy is sweating bullets at this point and trying to deflect, which is what his bullying is meant to accomplish. But he's the epitome of the corrupt Jersey style stereotype. He'll be one of the examples of why that stereotype is going nowhere in a hurry...
Suddenly, during our online conversation here, it occurs to me that all these "politicians" jumping in to start running for president seem to all be under investigation for some kind of corruption or are seen too often with questionable company... is that the new deflection from scrutiny they think they'll enjoy? Are we missing something here?
Back to the topic, I am anticipating Cuomo to be getting way more scrutiny soon. He was most certainly aware - even if during the mess - of Bridgegate and was wholly participating in keeping the Port Authority corrupt for political/personal gain too.
I hope Crispy (and his partners in crime) hits the ground hard like a sack of potatoes.
