The Fabulous Life Of Brian Williams

It appears that Brian Williams has a fairly active imagination as suggested by his admitting to fabricating his coming under fire in Iraq, and now a LA newspaper looking at two claims he made during Hurricane Katrina.

I'm sure we can come up with more scenarios that occurred in Brian Williams' life.

Brian Williams: I remember being at the Brandenburg Gate in 1987 with Ronald Reagan, or Dutch as I liked to call him. His advisers were expecting him to give a standard boiler plate about nuclear arms reduction but I told him, "Dutch, this is your chance to define your legacy. Get up there and tell Gorbachev to blow up that wall." Of course Ronnie, ever the actor ad-libbed my suggestion but it still came out well. And that's how we ended Communism.

he asked why the Nasa engineers didn't think about using the LEM as their home until they returned from the moon orbit. NASA seriously debated giving him a medal because the idea would never had occurred to them without his help. Director of Operations Gene Kranz, a brilliant and pragmatic thinker himself said, "In all of my years of experience, I never met anyone as impressive, creative, and intellectually powerful as Brian. WIthout his help, 13 would have been a huge failure."

There was the time when he suggested to Columbus that he head west, not east, and of course, the time he gave flying instructions to Lindbergh on how to fly solo. Chuck later said, "If it wasn't for Bri-man, I would have never made it across the pond. His insight and knowledge made it happen."

Also, do not ignore his farsighted ideas in atomic bomb design, coming up with a new and effective trigger mechanism that would cause the 26 simultaneous explosions necessary to reach critical mass. When asked about Brian's input and importance, Niels Bohr state, "Every single thing I learned about quantum physics came from Brian. It was him, and him alone that brought our world of physics into the 20th, even the 21st century. Plus, his creative and insightful ideas about nuclear triggers - Just imagine, a room filled with mathematicians, physicists and atomic scholars, with no less than 4 Nobel prize winners - and who taught them about nuclear bomb design? Brian Williams. He won the second world war for for the west. "

Brian was there to cover the big day when Punxatawny Phil fell ill. Brian went into hero mode, tossed on a bear skin rug and declared to the world that he couldn't see his shadow saving us all from six more weeks of winter.

Brian, we need you now more than ever!

its sad that a person who otherwise has a very interesting life nevertheless feels compelled to embellish it further.

I still am amazed at how people think Reagan "ended Communism". The ultimate collapse of the Soviet system was built-in to the way that it functioned. We waited them out through consistent policy for decades.

The year was 1987 and baby Jessica McClure fell down her Aunt's wishing well.

Brian Williams was there along with every major news outlet (all three) to report on the ongoing rescue attempts. It was well into day three when rescuers began to tire and give up hope in the Texas heat - it was Brian Williams who shed his tie and got right to work digging the last few meters with his bare hands.

I think it's sad that he embellished/lied about/incorrectly remembered what could be pretty easily verified or disproved. If he is normally a good journalist/reporter, I hope this doesn't ruin him. I'm sure he'll learn from it and do better.

Or were you joking? I've never heard him.

When Brian Williams started playing New-tainment, I believe he lost his credibility.

It's really sad and a bigger statement on the MSM news itself.
