Fox News Gets Big Online Traffic for Embedded ISIS Video
by Josh Feldman
This week Fox News decided to post the latest ISIS video online, in full, in its online player. And the result? A significant chunk of traffic to Foxs website specifically for that video.
Fox made the call this week to post the video in full (even if some of its big faces dont like the idea of Fox hosting terrorist propaganda) and in doing so, they opened the floodgates for conservatives websites to do the same.
Well, according to traffic data provided to The Washington Post, there were a total of 7.7 million video streams from Foxs website (almost double the usual amount), with 50 percent of them in total going to both the raw video and Foxs report on the video.
The 22.5-minute video has accounted for a total of 10 percent of all streams since it was posted on the Fox News site Tuesday. Fox executive John Moody told Mediaite earlier this week they decided this video was important to show viewers the reality of ISIS brutality.
