Taylor Swift trademarks the phrase "Nice to Meet You. Where You Been?".

Also she will own the phrases:

"Cause We Never...,"
"Party Like It's 1989,"
"This Sick Beat,"
"Could Show You Incredible Things"

Which were all lyrics in her latest album.

"Not only is she ensuring that she has the opportunity to make money off her intellectual property (the lyrics), but she is also confirming that no one else will."

Cause we never miss a chance to make money. ...
(Oops. Gotta pay young Ms. Swift to post this.)

she is property, just like "her" lyrics.

No.

She filed an intent-to-use registration application with the USPTO in October. The application has not been examined.

For $300 anyone can file anything with the USPTO. That doesn't mean jack shit.
