Lawsuit complicates Brian Bell's plan to sign with FSU
Brian Bell is unsure if his commitment will be honored by FSU on National Signing Day.
Bell, a three-star linebacker recruit from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes High, committed to FSU last February, but his status with the school is unknown the eve of National Signing Day. Hes been named in a wrongful death civil lawsuit involving Kendrick Johnson, a fellow student who was found dead at Lowndes High in 2013.
The lawsuit filed by Johnsons family accuses Bell and others of killing Johnson. Bell was never charged with a crime or listed as a suspect in the case, and the Bells family attorney, Brice Ladson, denies all allegations made in the complaint.
Brian Bell has not heard any official word from FSU on whether his scholarship offer will be honored or not, Ladson told the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday evening. Hes waiting to hear from FSU as we speak.

I don't think those who were responsible for investigating this case have produced conclusive info. In fact, the big holes in their investigation may have been what generated the lawsuit.

(725 posts)I've no idea if the suspicions about the two brothers are real, but sure does feel like some good old Georgia boy stuff. Especially when daddy's with the FBI.
The missing video footage - it would have taken someone high up in the school administration, or for someone to turn their heads while it was getting misplaced.
I hope this family ultimately gets a decent investigation.
