Every company today has/ should have a disaster recovery plan. Why don't political parties too?
Everyone just assumes that HRC will sleepwalk to the nomination and consequently all competitors have backed off.
Why should we not have a vigorous primary?

(94,725 posts)We have plenty of prospects. Most of them don't want to compete if Hillary runs because they see it as a hopeless cause, and not worth the years of effort.

(146,329 posts)Nobody has announced yet. Not even Hillary Clinton. There's time, still. If you know of someone you think should run, it's a good time to communicate with that person and encourage him or her to run. That's what's going on right now. People are talking about running or not running right now. Some are deciding not to run, like Mitt Romney and Elizabeth Warren. They're letting people know their decision so those people can support someone else. It seems pretty clear that Hillary Clinton is planning to run, and she has lots of supporters encouraging to do just that.
So, who did you have in mind as a primary candidate? Have you let that person know? Has that person already declined?
If people run, there will be a primary. If not, then whoever does run will get the nomination. It's pretty simple, really.
