Do they put themselves at risk or do they just screw over their children? I was thinking about it as my last booster had a few extra vaccines due to immunity fading in adults. Seemed like an excellent idea to me.

(19,460 posts)they step on a rusty nail, get cut, dog bit etc... I have not had a tetanus in 40 years. I haven't had to but I would if I needed one.

(16,201 posts)Because many people don't or forget to track it, the booster is given with major cuts. That said, you can injure yourself at home and not need medical attention for the cut, but still be at risk for tetanus.
I've always gotten the booster every 10 years.

(8,646 posts)seem to make an exception for tetanus. I'd say probably 60-70% of anti-vaxxers I used to know still did the tetanus thing for them and their kids. I guess tetanus was scary enough for those people.
