5. I discussed parrots with Robin Williams. Cockatoos, to be specific.

They were in the palm trees next to the high school running track in Los Angeles. Fairfax High School.

A flock of cockatoos. Where in the world did they come from?

A number of the runners stopped and stared and remarked upon this phenomenon. One of them was Robin Williams. He was wearing a bizarre yellow oilskin overalls outfit while he ran.

One of life's surreal moments, but hey, this is LA, after all.
