9 Republicans launch House Freedom Caucus

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/01/house-freedom-caucus-conservative-legislation-114593.html

Founded by some of most hard-line GOP lawmakers, the House Freedom Caucus will lobby for bills that would limit the size of the government.

“The House Freedom Caucus gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans,” the caucus’s mission statement reads.

The founding members include Republican Reps. Scott Garrett of New Jersey, Jim Jordan of Ohio, John Fleming of Louisiana, Matt Salmon of Arizona, Justin Amash of Michigan, Raúl Labrador of Idaho, Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina, Ron DeSantis of Florida and Mark Meadows of North Carolina.

The Freedom Caucus will be an invite-only group, and members involved with the planning said they will invite around 30 lawmakers to join. If the caucus can boast a 29-person membership, it would be in a position to block Republican legislation that members don’t support.

Hmmm. does anyone else find it strange that something called the "House Free-Dumb Caucus" is invite only?

Oh well, at least they didn't call it the "Double-Plus Good Caucus".

Just can't wait to see what type of "reasonable" compromise ideas come out of this bunch.

Wonder if Boner got an invite

Err, mouth.
That would be a most effective way of limiting the size of government-- their resignations.

dems. If Boner needs more votes to pass something he would need to turn to the house dems to get it passed thereby giving the dems more input it would seem.

is a large number of Republicans who want to expand the size of federal and state government into a woman womb, doctors offices and the bed room.

OR will they turn a blind eye to that kind of expanding government.

is strictly a Frank Luntz creation, I'm sure.

Can we assume that house members that are not invited into the caucus are anti-freedom?

they are doing it themselves.
I think this is going to be a wasted two years for them. They don't meet that often.
When they do they fight among themselves and Obama can veto anything they pass.

only their definition of "freedom" is
- the right of the wealthy and powerful to "freely" screw over everyone else

- the right of the wealthy and powerful to "freely" rape our natural resources and national treasures for personal gain

- the right of the wealthy and powerful to "freely" buy as many politicians as they possibly can

- the right of the wealthy and powerful to "freely" deny health care and "general welfare" to those they deem "unworthy"

and

- the right of the wealthy and powerful to "freely" take as many government subsidies and services while denying the rest of the citizenry the same.

Oh, I'm pretty sure they mean "Freedom" alright, with a "capital "F" for them, and a "capital" FU for the rest of us.
