Paul Ryan now disowns Ayn Rand...

I guess Ryan's Jesus Freak supporters got on his case.

Ayn Rand Fanboy Paul Ryan Now Says He Rejects Ayn Rand's Philosophy

By Blue Texan

Perhaps finally realizing that praising the cruel, shallow philosophy of a second-rate novelist -- then writing legislation which pays tribute that philosophy -- isn't a big winner in American politics, Paul Ryan (R-WI) and his partners in crime at the National Review now want us to believe he was never an Ayn Rand disciple at all.

“I reject her philosophy,” Ryan says firmly. “It’s an atheist philosophy. It reduces human interactions down to mere contracts and it is antithetical to my worldview. If somebody is going to try to paste a person’s view on epistemology to me, then give me Thomas Aquinas,” who believed that man needs divine help in the pursuit of knowledge. “Don’t give me Ayn Rand,” he says.

O RLY?

"The reason I got involved in public service, by and large, if I had to credit one thinker, one person, it would be Ayn Rand," Ryan said at a D.C. gathering four years ago honoring the author of "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead."

That would seem to be the opposite of "reject."

Nice try, Paul.

When they're not on their knees to grover norquist, that is.

All she ever did for the world is offer a well-published and disseminated justification for selfishness. She's their wet dream of all time because she gave them cover, and validated their love of selfishness, elevating that whole notion and giving it a kind of "legitimacy."

So you can't blame Ryan for trying to sanitize his nitwittery. The question is why the popular media will pretend ignorance of Ryan's journey of political philosophy. I mean, we're just a bunch of wonks with an internet connection, and we're well aware of this kind of shit. Why can't major media outlets with all the resources and money at their disposal at least keep up with the likes of us? One would think it was rather embarrassing for these alleged professionals to get shown up by a crowd of amateurs.

This is most likely the first of many backwards step Pauley is going to take in order for RMoney to choose him as VP. You know he wants it and this is just the one of many flip-flops that will happen in order to make Pauley the perfect Rmoney guy..stands for nothing, creepy, and unoriginal.

while rejecting her call for personal greed and pure capitalism mantra (ironically mainly because she failed to use reason to justify them and treats them as dogma that must be true).

Ryan rejects using reason and goes pure dogma while accepting the DOGMA in Rand's original philosophy. A complete LOL all around.

The GOP may be working to try to bring their coalition of tea partiers, religious righties, libertarians and conservatives together. Cause they were all over the ****ing place during the primaries. By getting rid of a 'leader' of the libertarians in Ayn Rand, they leave room for Romney to lead that group in this presidential election once Ron Paul supports him.

If their guys say one thing one day and then the complete opposite on the next day, even if it's all on video with the contradiction played in a continuous loop 24 hours a day. Just win, baby.
