Asteroid visible from Earth with binoculars

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. -

A big asteroid will fly near Earth starting Monday. From at 10 p.m. to midnight, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center scientists will be streaming their observations live on UStream.

The asteroid is called 2004 BL86. It will come about 745,000 miles from Earth, or about three times as far away as the moon at 11:19 a.m., according to NASA.

"While it poses no threat to Earth for the foreseeable future, it's a relatively close approach by a relatively large asteroid, so it provides us a unique opportunity to observe and learn more," NASA's Don Yeomans said in a press release.
