I get the news the old fashion way: reading print newspapers and watching TV - networks and cable. And, on occasions, DU LBN.
Thus, it was not until the next day that I read about Ukraine withdrew from Donetsk airport. Not a word about it on NBC News - the one that we watched that day. Not on CNN or MSNBC. (Should have gone to Aljazeera.)

And then I realized: modern day gladiators. Who cars about news? real news? national and international? Except for the occasional beheading and the noreasters.
Otherwise, it is football, basketball, hockey, baseball, whatever.
And when we talk about income inequality, we never talk about teachers and coaches. In high schools and in colleges. We never talk about healthcare providers and CEOs of insurance companies.
Sigh.
