He's no newly-awakened savior of the poor. It's the same old mitt. Just trying to talk a better game now that the playing field has a few more Elizabeth Warren footprints on it.

(37,573 posts)and yet they still get tax breaks that working people do not. KPERS income is not taxed by the state of Kansas, for example.
I get that they are trying to give retired people a little bit of incentive to stay in Kansas and not move to balmy South Dakota which has NO state income tax, but still ... Talking to the city manager, he claimed that he will make over $100,000 a year when he is retired.
Also, tens of millions of German speakers are not doing all that bad today. Back in 2001 I would have happily moved to Germany or Switzerland where they treat their low income workers a little better than they do here. Learning a new language would be a small price to pay for a little more gemutlichkeit.

(45,984 posts). . . he's owned by the Koch brothers.
If Mr. Romney misses the point, his wealth is ill-gotten because he "earned" it by loading American businesses with debt, selling them off a piece at a time and shipping their workers' jobs overseas. Bain Capital was a racket, not a legitimate business.
David Koch gave the Romney campaign a million dollars when Mitt the Twit agreed to put Paul Ryan on the Republican national ticket with him. Perhaps Congress writes laws to make a distinction between contributing that kind of money to a political campaign and bribery, but that doesn't mean there is one.
A vulture capitalist should never be president and couple of political racketeers like the Koch brothers should never be able to determine who the local dog catcher is, let alone who is the leader of the "free" world.

(86,649 posts)the kocktopus has rejected Mittens and did not invite him to their little beauty pageant this weekend in Calif. (I previously and mistakenly said it was in Kansas a few days back but it's in Palm Springs.) I think they've cut him off of the kochteat. He's going to have to find his own funding this time.

If Bush is smart, he'll keep Romney at a distance: R$ looked like a fool during and after that last electionand he STILL doesn't get how out of touch he is.
