Is Romney already a bigger jerk than Dubya was ? (Poll)

Dubya enjoyed belittling his staff and those he met with. He gave them frat boy style names and called reporters "major league assholes" under his breath.

And now we see Romney who, for better or worse, can't do the fake cowboy thing or even the aging frat boy have a beer with me thing. Romney has been inside of his corporate raider bubble pretty exclusively it would seem so he needles the voters:
- at a NASCAR event he said to fans in plastic raincoats: "I like those fancy raincoats you bought. Really sprung for the big bucks.”
- he also had to tells us all that while he knows nothing about NASCAR he does "have some friends who are team owners"
- his own father started the tradition of releasing his tax forms but Mitt threw his OWN FATHER under the bus with the line "The idea that I am supposed to follow exactly what my dad did is not something I find terribly compelling.”
- Mitt took time to find fault with the spread at a campaign stop, complaining: "I'm not sure about these cookies. They don't look like you made them...No, no. They came from the local 7-eleven, bakery, or whatever."

And for his peers, Romney turns and wants to bet "ten thousand dollars" that he is right. To Rick Perry, Dec 2011:
“Rick, I’ll tell you what, 10,000 bucks, $10,000 bet,” Romney said, extending a hand.

see and appreciate. Add to that, he is a klutz who cannot "read" people.

It's like Don Rickles doing a bit in a nursing home full of elderly Carmalite nuns. RMoney seems to think that people appreciate "insult humor" that is directed AT them. The truth is, people do NOT like that shit. It's only funny when the other guy is getting humiliated, and it's never funny when you haven't paid to hear the Rickles or the Dice Clay ripping on people.

He is a jello-eating dork who is a meanass. Bad combo.

I L-O-A-T-H-E Romney, but I have never despised anybody as fiercely as I did that mother-f****r GWB. Just looking at his smirking mug makes my blood pressure rise, and I just want to smack it off his lips. . . .

Nonetheless, Romney is a fricking prig--I cannot stand him; I mean I REALLY hate him. But as I said, GWB still wins in my hate book!

Like the BP executive who came on tv to "convince" Americans they "care about the SMALL people."

Romney wantsus to think he is one of us when he probably has to take pepto bismol to keep from vomiting when he has to mingle with the "average" American voter.

Shit, he wouldn't set foot in a Sears, JC Penny's, if it would save his life. He has car elevaors!
His wife's horse costs more than my 3 bedroom house...

Romney looks on us with distain. We are the "help" that is all we are to him. We are a necessary nuisance he has to endure to win the White House.

that Romney is even more dickish than W. W was/is a clueless idiot whose dickishness is pretty much what you'd expect from a drunken frat boy. If he were 40 years younger he'd cover his face with Man Tan, wear a polo shirt with a popped collar, give you an insulting nickname and vomit on your shoes. He's a jerk and a dick because he doesn't know any better.

Mittens is even more clueless than W, on account of having had a ridiculous amount of money all his life. W came from a well-off family and developed that rich-asshole attitude of entitlement but Mittens is way richer. W could do the "nice guy you'd want to have a beer" with routine; Mittens can't even fake it, and when he tries he looks like the world's biggest d-bag.

Both of them are assholes but I am coming to believe that Mittens is actually worse because he's dead sober when he does it.

behind closed doors and whispering 'major league asshole' to Cheney shows he was more in-touch with the political landscape than Romney is. Dubya at least had the sense to try and pick the audience for his elitism jokes. It really makes me think that Romney is surrounded by ass-kisers who won't call him or coach him on his dick-ishness (perhaps because he likes "to fire people&quot .

It took 8 years for the frat boy to rack up his score, and he could read people enough to pick his audience. Other than his Katrina flyover and botched PR gimmicks, it was only through unexpected cameras and leaks that his offenses made it into the open.

Mittens and Mrs. Mittens can't let a week go by without trying to charm people and ending up insulting them. They already rival W's total insult score. What's Mitten's excuse? Drunk on privilege?

Mitt is more the passive aggressive kind of jerk.

So it is hard to make a firm comparison of jerkiness. And they are probably equal in the douche category.

Romney is smarter and more preppy than the faux cowboy. Their equally dis-likeable for both the same and different reasons. However the damage Bush did was clumsy and stupid. Romney's damage was much more artful and technical. I see him as even more dangerous than Bush because he's more manipulative and has to keep proving himself to the radicals that despise him.

No, Silverspoon's very essence makes him the ultimate in "jerkiness".

Bush lied us into a war - what can be more assholish than that?! Romney may have made a few insensitive gaffes, but anyone can make an insensitive gaffe without being comparable to a war criminal.

I am with Jimmy Carter. If Romney actually won, it would not portend the kind of disaster that anybody else on the republican clown car would have done to our country (except for Huntsman). Romney is actually somewhat moderate - he was elected Massachusetts governor after all. No way to compare him to bush.

That said, I prefer Obama by a mile over Romney of course.
