They know teachers will take the abuse because they're wired to teach.

The same people believe that greedy people can be used productively in a capitalist society. They can be used, yes, but not productively.

and other historically 'female' occupations. Even though Nurses get paid a bit more these days-it is not commensurate to a typical similar male occupation.

Which really sucks when you realize that the most greedy are the ones that get the best financial rewards and incentives.

You begin to understand why our society is crumbling.

'they' finally decided to add Nurses to the list they use for most trusted profession-even though we were a profession for centuries. Nurses have been in either 1,2, or 3 ever since-usually #1 most trusted. Why the shortage? Many hospitals do not live up to most Nurse's standards-and they quit rather than put someones life in jeopardy. If you every come across a Nurse strike....you can bet the conditions are horrid, but the hospitals love to blame the 'greedy' Nurses for fighting mandatory overtime, safer staffing to improve patient outcomes and safety, and medical care for their OWN families.
