about the NFL?
PATRIOTS CHEAT! PATRIOTS CHEAT! PATRIOTS CHEAT! And the cry goes on.
Anybody know which contestant in this year's Super Bowl is known as "Team Adderall", having had more players suspended for PED violations than any other? Or is that not cheating?
Anybody know which team in this year's Super Bowl was fined in the off-season for impermissible contact drills? Or is that not cheating?
(Hint: Neither of the above mentioned teams plays their home games in Foxboro, Massachusetts.)
EVERYBODY games the rules, and QBs have been "personalizing" footballs forever. Should Tampa Bay's SB win be overturned now that their QB, Brad Johnson, has admitted that he paid thousands of dollars to have the chance to "personalize" the game balls? FUCK NO!
Seriously, folks. Some of you need to stick to politics.

That IS what will happen.
And it will be several weeks before it does.

(77 posts)They need to be banned before their disgusting exhibition in a few days. If they aren't then it won't matter. It won't matter at all. None at all. Not a bit.

(9,527 posts)I wish my team, the Texans would have cut players like Brian Cushing and Duane Brown when they failed drug tests. Especially Cushing who claimed that he had a rare medical condition that caused him to have a high level of a masking agent in his system. He should have been smacked upside the head for trying to pass that bullshit.
But for the record, the NFL didn't announce what drugs players failed drug tests for. So the Seattle players may all of have taken Adderall, but it's equally likely they were taking something else as Adderall has more common legitimate medical uses and so isn't seen as bad as taking steroids or hgh.
The NFL's drug testing system is a joke. Players are only suspended for 4 games. In sports with higher drug testing regimes in place, players are suspended for a year or more, thus making it less of a vacation and more of an actual useful sanction. And in the most recent agreement, masking agents are now down to a 2 game suspension, with off-season drug tests resulting in no suspension at all.

Just for the record, it IS the Patriot Way. Josh McDaniels got fired from Denver because he too had a taping the other team's practice problem.

(13,069 posts)They knew there would be little, if any consequences. And the Superbowl is definitely a benefit worth the cost of a couple hundred thousand.
They are rewarded for cheating.
And, I have never agreed with the argument that "everyone" cheats. BS

(13,069 posts)It does not matter if the cheating worked or not....and perhaps it did. Football is as much a mental game. They definitely got the momentum.
But the issue is not that it worked.
