I saw a couple guys get arrested last night
I was walking on 7th Ave near 40th St. in NYC yesterday evening. First I saw a bunch of cops near a cab. The driver was in handcuffs. I don't know what he did, but I'd guess it's either a suspended license or a problem with his taxi medallion. That situation was pretty calm.
When I got across the street from the same block, I hear some noise behind me. Two cops are trying to talk to a guy on a bicycle. The guy was wearing a NY Rangers Brendan Shanahan jersey. He panics and tries to ride away from the cops, but the cops stay close and they pin him against a UPS truck on the other side of the street. The cops try to get the guy to calm down. It looked like it would settle down, but then the guy on the bike starts pushing the cops. He tries to get away by fighting the cops and puts one of the cops in a headlock. Eventually he runs across the street. The cops catch up and arrest him on the curb across the street just in front of the cab where the first incident was. The bad guy basically ran right to a bunch of cops arresting someone else.
The best part about this story is the cab driver that was arrested was laughing at the guy who ran from the cops. I guess everything in life is about perspective.
