John Boehner’s unconstitutional LEGISLATIVE overreach

https://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2015/01/23/john-boehners-unconstitutional-legislative-overreach/

Source info at the link.
Little Johnny Boehner has been bitching about President Obama’s supposed “executive overreach”, and how that mean old Prexy has been violating the Constitution’s Separation of Powers doctrine. So what does the Speaker do next? Why, he violates that very doctrine himself via legislative overreach. (“Grimy arse”, said the pot to the kettle.)

Boehner, you see, doesn’t like the way we are negotiating a treaty (an executive branch power) with Iran, so he invited Bibi Neti, the PM of Israel, to f*** up the negotiations address Congress. This without involving the President. That is a legislative power grab of unprecedented proportions.

And Boehner isn’t even trying to pretend. He says, straight out, that he is trying to take over treaty negotiations:
That invitation to address Congress, extended by House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, marked a sharp rejection of Obama’s plea for Congress to stay out of negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. If Congress votes to sanction Iran, Obama had warned, it could upset delicate and long-running talks.
Boehner said he would ignore the president’s demand, taking the unusual step of inviting a foreign leader directly into an American political debate.

Obama “expects us to stand idly by and do nothing while he cuts a bad deal with Iran,” Boehner told fellow Republicans at a closed-door meeting Wednesday morning, according remarks provided by a senior GOP aide. “Two words: ‘Hell no!’ .?.?. We’re going to do no such thing.”

Boehner also told reporters Wednesday morning that he did not speak with Obama before inviting Netanyahu to address Congress.

The Speaker’s pot arse is far grimier than the Prexy’s kettle one. If Boehner were truly concerned about the Constitution, he would not be using an agent of a foreign power to kneecap the President while Obama is negotiating with another, unfriendly, nation.

Boehner passed over our Head of State, Head of Government, Commander in Chief, while we are in process of negotiating a critical agreement with a nation that has been on the verge of creating a nuclear bomb of some kind since...well, since the invention of the boogeyman (definition of boogeyman - a Republican strategy to create fear and control)?

And this moron is 3rd in line for the Presidency?

Boehner is a patsy at best, and a traitor to the American people (but we knew that, the lying bastard!).

He may not have to ask or consult anyone, in his opinion, but he does have to deal with the consequences. And there will be consequences.

Boehner and Netanyahu are both undermining important, critical negotiations with Iran for political purposes. It is blatant and disgusting! Hopefully, it won't happen...

This would be a great issue for DU bloggers, but of course we are all mostly concerned with Brady's ball problem, so...bright shiny baubles are distracting at the moment.

Someone needs to remind the gop that they were elected by Americans, not Israelis. Lindsey Graham has been fawning all over Bibi also. The gop has done NOTHING for the people of this country, except block anything that would benefit the citizens. One consolation is that the repubs. might think they are making the President look bad, when in reality most people see through their racism. obstruction and disrespect. The biggest problem they face is having NOBODY on their side who is anywhere near as intelligent as our President. Look at the pathetic group who are running for the WH from the repub. side. Most are either in legal trouble, been rejected before at their attempts, or so religious they should run for Pope. Most are running because it is an easy wway to make money, grifting from their followers and big donors. Hucklebee just was questioned about his Pac giving over $400,000 to various family members. He is running again, to keep them in the dough.

All the US has to do is sit out a single vote on the UN Security Council for Israel to suffer immense consequences for this action by Netanyahu.

Are even more severe. I hope this is the straw that prompts what they have so richly deserved for so long: firings and punishment.

Maybe it's a real benefit that the orange drunk-ass puke did this so shortly after PBO'S superb SOTU. Still within the boundaries of the public's and the media-newz's short term memory skills.
