Hatch Sees Warren as the New Kennedy

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) told Yahoo News that he thinks Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), “who showed up at a well-attended reception to celebrate Hatch’s chairmanship of the Senate Finance Committee and said a few words in his honor, would like to form a friendship with him ‘like Kennedy had.'”

Said Hatch: “We’ve become friends. I think she would like to have a relationship with me like Kennedy had. I like her. I think she’s a very bright woman. She’s certainly playing the media in a beautiful way.”

Hatch added that he’d like to see Warren become “the new Kennedy.”

1. His sentiment might be genuine. Then again, I've been seeing stuff like this for months

And what I mean by that is various Republicans and Conservative pundits desperately trying to prop up potential primary challengers for Hillary. In the past it has been mostly Biden.

Again, it could be genuine, but my bet is on another Republican hoping to create a situation where Hillary has to face a potentially damaging primary.

Hillary. It sounds like Hatch wants Warren to be in the Senate.

You are the first to admit that Hillary couldn't withstand a traditional primary campaign/election.

for some truth!

6. She would be an excellent Senate Majority Leader for our times.

Harry Reid is just too "yesterday". Senator Warren would be perfect as Senate Majority Leader in 2017 onward. Reid needs to retire. He's been too friendly with Republicans and has shown too much belligerence toward progressive bills from both President Obama and then Speaker Pelosi. I mean, he's allowed to stall 440 bills that Nancy Pelosi had fought hard to get through by using the Republicans to filibuster them.

As Senate Majority Leader - should we have a President Hillary Clinton - Senator Warren would be able to keep both the House and the White House in check. That's where the real power lies - Congress, specifically, the Senate - the Senate these days ever since Teabaggers anchored their delusional, anti-America behinds in those House seats, thanks to concentrated gerrymandering.

One only has to take a look at what Hatch says and what he really means. This Guy has and in my opinion will always make statements similar to this. Hatch only says things that will benefit himself or his campaign sponsors. One has only to read his many Op-Ed's to see the real Orin Hatch and it isn't nice. One condescending asshole.

9. One very distinct thing I recall about Hatch...

occurred during the Clinton Presidency. Clinton wanted to go after Osama bin Laden and Hatch led the attack against doing so, accusing the President of trying to deflect attention away from his "Monica problems." I remember seeing Hatch on TV news blasting Clinton for his desire to get bin Laden. Too bad no one has held Sen. Smarmy accountable for his lunacy.

BNW, but apparently Elizabeth Warren isn't one of them. I like her. Hilary was a Republican for a long time, as well.

I don't judge people by what they used to say, I judge them by what they say now ... but more importantly, by what they do.

I'm far less fond of politicians that say they have Democratic party "bona fides" when they turn around and DO things that are against what they say they believe.

Give me people that changed their minds, vote, act and behave in line with the positions they state they hold dear. Elizabeth Warren does all of those things.
