How do they enforce all those crazy rules? They must have a huge network of spies following every Liberty U student around 24/7 to make sure they don't play the wrong video games or get pierced in the wrong place.

How can they call themselves Liberty University when their students have no liberties?

The less they believe in liberty (other than their 2nd amendment rights), the more they talk about it.

...get the students to spy on each other. It's like the old joke about Baptist anti-alcohol prohibitions: "If you go fishing with two Baptists, none of them will drink all your beer; but if you go fishing with one Baptists, he'll drink ALL your beer!"

Falwell was a Southern Baptist, so LU is rooted in that mentality.

don't trust their adult children to make decent decisions or exercise self-control. This is because the parents haven't exposed them to the "real world" or sex or anything where the kids might realize that life and kissing and dancing and sex might be fun.

“We promise the parents when the students come here that we will be sort of surrogate parents for four years,” said Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. “That’s one of the things that makes Liberty unique.”

It was her dream to go there. Jerry Falwell was her hero. Doesn't surprise me, though. And her mother could not be more proud. It just makes me sad that she's gotten so sucked in. She was such a sweet girl.

I have other friends whose parents have sheltered them from everything "bad" in the world. They can't deal with life at all. It makes me so sad. That is just irresponsible parenting. They think they're doing their kids a favor, but it really isn't hard to believe in God when you live in a vacuum and nothing bad ever happens to you in life.

Visitor Policy
"Commuter students must be off campus by midnight. Those students who need to be on campus after curfew for the purpose of work, computer lab use, or special events must obtain permission at the main entrance (checkpoint area). Single students are not allowed to visit in apartments of the opposite sex or to entertain visitors of the opposite sex in their own apartment unless there are three (3) or more persons present. Under no circumstances, should any person enter the bedroom of the opposite sex. A visitation curfew of 12 midnight will be in effect. Resident students are not permitted to stay overnight in the apartment or house of an off-campus single person."

So, my question is this: are same-sex orgies okay? (I know the answer, but it is not clearly spelled out now is it?)

working for a klown who sent one of his sons to this diploma mill. He sometimes forgot to pay me my subsistence wage on time but always managed to pay the kid's tuition at this patently fraudulent "university." If I saw "Liberty University" on a resume, said resume would quickly be relegated to the shredder or the men's room.

I actually did a campus visit to Messiah College in Mechanicsburg PA. My mother thought it would be a good school for me (because it was local) and I knew 2 girls who I had gone to camp with that were attending Messiah.

I heard the rules I knew right away this was not a place for me. And the thing is this - you have to follow those rules even if you are off-campus. Plus the fact you have to take a religion class every semester? I don't mind taking a religious class but not one every semester.

I ended up at Lebanon Valley College. It's owned by the Methodists but hardly a religious school. They did have the religion class requirement but it was part of the liberal arts program and you could take philosophy classes instead if you preferred (2 semesters for graduation)
