Mitt sets record ...first time a presumptive GOP nominee fails to reach threshhold...

Mitt Romney set a record with at least two of Tuesday's primary wins, but it's an achievement the presumptive Republican nominee probably won't be bragging about.

The former Massachusetts governor won Delaware with 56 percent of the vote and Pennsylvania with 58 percent. According to University of Minnesota political scientist Eric Ostermeier, that marks the first time that a presumptive GOP nominee has failed to reach the 60 percent mark in a contest conducted after his last major challenger exited the race.

Not even all of the primaries are over for them yet. He'll have it sewed up by then.

Maybe I am reading this wrong but Mitt just isn't popular w/ big #s of republicans because
even though it is now clear he will be the nominee of the party and is running basically
unchallenged between 23 and 37% of the primary voters showed up to vote against him.

Including one who was (briefly and laughably) considered a 'major challenger.'

Also the circumstances are a little different this time around. Santorum represented Pennsylvania in the Senate (he got 18 percent despite dropping out) and Newt was born there. Plus the Paulbots are dead-enders. He's got a guaranteed slice no matter who is in the race.

BTW, I do think it still says something about his unpopularity. But in a year without the circumstances mentioned above he probably would have cracked 60 percent, if only barely.

They will have to come up with some amazing magic tricks if they expect to pull it off this time.

Not even the Swifties can help the goppers with a loser like Mittens.

He's hoping to win on the sheer ubiquity of himself. It's a unique strategy.

He's like the Paris Hilton of presidential nominees. Famous for being famous.

Mitt is still fighting against Mr. Noneofdem Jerkoffs for the nomination, and they both have equally compelling platforms.
