3. I just find it curious the daily banter would print this and they provide links to their sources

I never have been a fan of Salon. If I need that kind of news I'd look at Huff Post.

that it's the Daily Banter's idea of satire?

Or, that the Iowa hate group 'Drunks With Guns' has been funneling drug money into Salon for years?

Seriously?

I'll stick with Salon, and not Ben Cohen/Bob Cesca garbage.

then I would say that The Daily Banter is a weak, weak source. Hearsay, unsubstantiated allegations, cherry-picked "facts."

If it's satire, I give it a C-. Not really incisive or funny.

5. In the days of Pres Bill Clinton's orchestrated "impeachment"

It was Salon Magazine speaking against the Henry Hyde ilk.
I believe it was Salon that stood firmly & mostly alone in defense of Pres Clinton & along with MoveOn exposed the likes of Linda Tripp's suspicious ties to Lewinski.
Those two online forums, along with some of the best investigative posters, uncovered the depths of anti Clinton hate. Bob Barr, Hyde, Fox News, Gingrich, Coulter, Limbaugh & others shilling for the white GOP of the deep South, came out strongly united in their effort to unseat the President.

Much was uncovered through Salon & MoveOn to counter the organized efforts to destroy a President who was enormously loved by the Black community, women, & those without the status of wealth.
Much the same as what we see today with the political divide.
I personally believe the same people hated Pres Clinton &
First Lady Hillary & daughter Chelsea, then, & for the same reasons as they hate President Obama & Family today.
If Salon didn't originally intend to be a serious mouthpiece for the Democrats & Progressives of the US, they soon became one by following MoveOn's lead in creating a forum for Americans to dig up & expose the organized corruption & hate machine that existed behind the GOP .

I wish I could access the archives of Salon from its first days because what was exposed was the unseen truth behind the GOP, the White & Right wing Holdovers of the old South , the wealthy business of Murdochs & Bush's & the extent of their corrupt political machine.

Pretty amazing time for the political social media to emerge & organize.
And Salon was their in a very big way as a voice against the corrupt underbelly of the GOP.

Thanks to Salon & MoveOn, we were given power to our voice & our beliefs.
Pretty cool to have been there in the early days. Agree.
Maybe we knew each other on Salon also KoKo.

and I find it hard to believe that they are linked to any of those right winged morons. I love Joan Walsh, a one time editor, she is on MSNBC quite often and seems like a genuine progressive to me.

and as a frequent and prominent blogger on the site now should give you some idea of the site's politics. Digby (liberal political blogger Heather Parton) is a regular contributor to Salon, as is Thomas Frank. Nope, there is nothing right wing about Salon.

See? If I read it in an article on the internet, from a source I've never heard of before, it must be true!

kimbutgar, you fell for this trash?

I read that Al Gore is really gay and that is the REAL reason for his divorce, and you can link it directly to the rash of states declaring Defense of Marriage Acts. Tipper held closed-door meetings & sent funds secretly to help states promote DOMAs...

(Yes, I just made that up off the top of my head. Would be more believable with a graphic no doubt.)
