Liberals are supposed to demolish the opposition in Court

Right wing judges will do whatever they do so we do not always win at the end of the day, but liberals are supposed to shine in all legal arguing and maneuvering. It is what we do... what we have always done.

We're sharp. We have command of the issues. In Bush v. Gore the Republican brief was so moronic that the conservative justices were forced to pretend it didn't exist, deciding the case primarily on grounds the Republicans hadn't even argued.

So I do not like having to read every few weeks that our solicitor general seemed over-matched in arguments before the SCOTUS.

The administration’s lawyer, Donald Verrilli, was again outmatched by D.C. lawyer Paul Clement, who argued the case for Arizona. It was a rematch on another explosive political issue after the two faced off over the health care law one month ago.

The Democratic opposition to Republican ideology inside court sounds like it's right in line with its opposition outside of court: confused, conflicted and half hearted.
