Volunteers help rescued dogs in Ohio & 11 more domestic violence shelters will keep pets safe in2015

Last week, our RedRover Responders team deployed to Pike County, Ohio, to assist in the care and sheltering of 55 dogs rescued from a local property after their owner passed away. The dogs were rescued from outside pens in the freezing Ohio winter, and were able to experience the loving care of RedRover Responders volunteers who gave them food, fresh water and warm beds.

Thanks to generous donations from people like you and a grant from the William H. Donner Foundation, 11 more domestic violence shelters will be able to create pet-friendly lodging to house victims' pets. Our ultimate goal is to ensure no family members are left behind including those with fur, says Megan Duesterhaus, Executive Director of Quincy Area Network Against Domestic Abuse, Inc., one of the shelters who received a grant in 2014.
