Everyone in congress who has voted against rebuilding Infrastructure should be indicted

for accessory to MURDER.

UPDATE 12:15 p.m.: The man killed by the bridge collapse was Brandon Carl, 45, of Augusta, Ky. He was inside a backhoe when the bridge collapsed. Airbags were used to lift heavy metal beams off of the backhoe. Carl's body was removed at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, more than four hours after the bridge

Boehner and his GOP are murderers!

so, would that be the responsibility of federal, state, or local government?

There are plenty of deaths due to lack of caring on the part of the GOP

It is evidence number 1 that Republicans in congress are intentionally hurting the United States.

6. And that purposeful death and destruction will NOT stop when the BLACK man is gone

the BLACK man is the excuse they used, but now these very stupid, very mean people have political power and led by Scalia in the courts they will use their hate and their power to cause as much death and destruction as possible.

4. Regardless of the details of this incident, there are plenty of examples where people die

due to disregard whether it be roads and bridges or healthcare/food/shelter.

One party wants to prevent future death (to some degree), the other purposely wants future deaths.

The bridge will NOT be repaired until a teaparty asshole congressperson's family member dies crossing it...

The same criminal thought process applies to food, shelter, healthcare, etc

and have them driven to and across all of the bridges with "D" and "F" ratings. Have them inspect them. Remind them that their kids and grandkids are on those roads. Remind them that it is just a matter of time before their miserliness kills more people.

I've been on that bridge probably twice a week for the past 20 years (until it was closed about 4 months) ago. I drive under it daily.

The bridge was being removed. They've been working on it for several months and there was a planned overnight shut down. I don't know if they were going to get it all in one night or if this was going to be the first of several nights over the next couple weeks. They have taken down 2-3 other ramp bridges like this one at this interchange in the past year with no incident. I suspect we'll learn there are some engineering activities during bridge removal that pre-weaken a structure recognizing it won't be carrying the weight of 100 cars hourly. Something probably went very very wrong with that portion of the work and this is the result. A likely outcome will be change in how that pre-weakening is permitted and executed.

While I agree that we have a huge infrastructure issue in this country, this is not evidence for the prosecution. The bridge was recently inspected and received an 85/100 rating - much better than many bridges in the area.

Separately, while it sounds terrible that it took 4 hours to remove the body - my friends in the local EMT business tell me the end was likely instantaneous and the time involved was to ensure the safety of the rescue workers.

PS - not that it matters but word in town is that he was actually 35. Still...so sad to hear.

Additional info on edit: I75 Southbound (under this bridge) was schedule to be closed Monday night from 11pm through 5am Tuesday morning. The accident happened 15 minutes before the shutdown and demo was scheduled to begin. The notice I read said they would get the entire bridge down in one evening.

I mean are they supposed to fix a deteriorating bridge before tearing it down? That makes absolutely no sense.
