http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/20/catholics-dont-have-to-breed-like-rabbits-says-pope-francisCatholics do not have to breed like rabbits and should instead practise responsible parenting, Pope Francis said on Monday.
...
But he firmly upheld church teaching banning contraception and said no outside institution should impose its views on regulating family size, blasting what he called the ideological colonisation of the developing world.
...
At the same time, however, he said its not true that to be a good Catholic you have to be like rabbits. On the contrary, he said responsible parenthood requires that couples regulate the births of their children, as church teaching allows. He cited the case of a woman he met who was pregnant with her eighth child after seven cesarean sections.

I understand that right wing evangelical christian groups have worked in developing countries for years promoting their church comes first then giving aid and the hospitals/clinics they fund do not offer contraception or even advice on choices that may include abortion . So being against
progressive, western ideas about birth control and gay rights are increasingly being imposed on the developing world by groups, institutions or individual nations, often as a condition for development aid.
is another example of double standards from organised religion.

Haha! So don't breed too much, but then you're still not allowed to use contraception.
Doesn't sound stupid at all!

(450 posts)1. Umm, That why birth control is a good health policy
The Catholic Church is talking out of both sides of it's mouth. In industrial societies 90% of Catholic women use artificial birth control so they don't breed like rabbits.

They were very good Catholics when it came to breeding like rabbits.
