American Family Association asks Justices Kagan and Bader Ginsburg to leave marriage equality case

Story here

The American Family Association has requested that Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg recuse themselves from this year's scheduled hearing of a case on marriage equality.

From the article:

Last week, the highest court in the US announced it would review rulings on same-sex marriage bans from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee – and a ruling could cement equality across the U.S.

However, the anti-gay American Family Association has called for two of the justices on the court – Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan – to recuse themselves from the case, as they have both performed same-sex weddings.

That's absurd. Whether they officiated in a jurisdiction which recognizes marriage equality has no bearing on the case.

Kagan and Ginsburg, who have officiated at same-sex weddings, can recuse themselves the second Alito, Scalia, Thomas and Roberts all recuse THEMselves.

while scaila and cheney are avid hunters and longtime friends, seveal experts in legal ethics questioned the timing of their trip and said it raised doubtsabout scalia's ability to judge the case impartially , the newspaper pointed out.

but scalia rejected that concern friday, telling the times,"i do not think my impartiality could reasonably be questioned."

And let her rule, now this would be fair huh. I have a feeling it will hinge on all are created equally and therefore any two can get married. Once this happens then perhaps some of the state houses can get back to doing needed business.

when "Justice" Scalia didn't recuse himself from bu$h vs. Gore, even though he was a duck-hunting buddy with someone who could benefit directly from the court's decision?

and now this next batch of highly devout individuals chime in. Which religious group will trash talk gay people with denigrating public insults tomorrow? It's a daily effort for them and quite stressful as they also have to spend lots of energy claiming to be oppressed victims living in a hostile secular wasteland.
Do they meet to organized their efforts, or is all of the viciousness just spontaneous?
