Oregon Christian Blogger Mom Declares Yoga Pants "Too Lustful" & Gives Them Up for Jesus Sake
An online blog post by a Christian wife and mother has created a firestorm in public chatter after her drawn-out declaration on why she will no longer wear “lustful” leggings. In what has become a contentious avowal — drawing more than 23,000 Facebook likes — Veronica Partridge spills about her inner struggle over the form-fitting pants, which for months she states had weighed "heavy on my heart."
It wasn’t until the comely Oregon woman confronted her husband about his thoughts as a man that she resorted to banning them from her wardrobe. "...When I walk into a place and there are women wearing yoga pants everywhere, it's hard to not look. I don't, but it's not easy," he allegedly confessed to her.
"If it is difficult for my husband who loves, honors, and respects me to keep his eyes focused ahead, then how much more difficult could it be for a man that may not have the same self-control?" she wrote. After making her decision to ditch the pants, she states: "...My conscience is clear and I feel I am honoring God and my husband in the way I dress."
Some of her thousands of readers were also eager to share their own thoughts, from whether it's then ultimately right to wear makeup — as Partridge is seen doing in her photos — and how features deemed "sexy" or “lustful” aren't always provocative or immodest. Many others argued that sexual attraction is going to happen regardless and so people should wear what makes them feel good — not at the mercy or fear of others.
