(6,440 posts)"She hears the voices that others don't". Either:
1) She hears the voice of the people when others listen only to corporations and billionaires; or
2) The "voice of the people" is entirely in her head, representing her own ego rather than reality.
No prizes for guessing which interpretation Third Way/DLC Dems will prefer.

(45,251 posts)I would really love for her and Sanders both to run, along with many others. I am not for Hillary, but, I am even less for an anointing. I am even less for the movement to take "rank and file" voters out of the equation as much as traffic will allow.
First, came the movement to establish super delegates. Then came the mythology/meme that Carter lost because of Kennedy and therefore no incumbent Democratic President should ever again face a primary. Then, the second vote on super delegates succeeded.
Then, since 2012, we've been hearing how "If Hillary runs, she'll clear the field. No Democrat will even bother to run against her." Now, we're hearing how Sanders has no business running as a Democrat and Warren can do far more in the Senate than she possibly could in the Oval Office ( ).
Nothing at all transparent--or highly undemocratic and unDemocratic-- about any of the above.

(55,981 posts)with either. Sadly, there are those that still believe that we live in a Constitutionally controlled democratic republic. It's like Russia but here we get two choices that both answer to the Oligarch Rulers.

It needs a Choice 3, though: "I don't get it."

(18,636 posts)I love this 'toon.
I may not be an entirely devoted Warren fanista, but Trudeau carries some weight. He grants Lizzy some well deserved credibility.
Thanx for posting.

Speaking of which, anyone know how I can send a letter to her?

(219 posts)In episode 9 of season 2 of Alpha House (the Amazon Prime series originated by Garry Trudeau - absolutely hilarious if you can get it!), John Goodman's character (the Republican senator from NC) runs into the real Elizabeth Warren at a book signing. She asks him, "so Gil John, when are you going to write a book?", to which he replies "ah, there's no point in writing a book unless you're running for president".
Ha! A thinly-veiled reference to her running for office because she's written a book?

GUMPTIOUS

With his gumption he'll make a success of himself.

3.

My heading is a spin on the old song, Buffalo Gal won't you come out tonight? The chorus is:
Buffalo gals, won't you come out tonight?
Come out tonight, Come out tonight?
Buffalo gals, won't you come out tonight,
And dance by the light of the moon.
The song is featured prominently in the 1946 Frank Capra film It's a Wonderful Life and heard in saloon scenes in the 1952 film High Noon (starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly). Edgar Buchanan performs a version in the 1941 film Texas, starring William Holden and Glenn Ford.

(55,981 posts)movement has started, much to the chagrin of the conservative Clinton-Sachs supporters. They hope for 8 more years of Oligarch subjugation. They don't concern themselves with the poverty level or any of the other problems we are facing.
